This Halal establishment is home to a host of different cuisines around the world, but their Mediterranean offerings takes the cake. Some of their signature dishes include their Shabsouka and Lamb Shank. The warm and cordial hospitality of their staff may lure you in, but the palatable and mouth-watering menu items will be the reasons you keep coming back for more. They have two outlets and it’s often brimming with people so if you’re heading here on weekends, it’s best to secure a reservation in order not to be disappointed.

3. Blu Kouzina @ Dempsey

This classy Greek restaurant used to be located oddly between a motorcar showroom and a wine retailer along the Bukit Timah drag, off Old Holland Road. Despite the unique location, it didn’t stop diners from driving all the way there to get their Greek food fix. Now that they’ve got their customers hooked, their relocation to Dempsey means there is no stopping foodies from heading down for a meal. Blu Kouzina is famous for their Spanakopita, which is a filo pastry with a sensational spinach filling.

This is one restaurant that doesn’t need special introducing. Sofra probably serves every Turkish dish  you can think of, but some of the crowd favourites you should definitely try are the Mussaka, Adana Kebab (served on a sword), and Izgara kofte! Top it off with a steaming cup of Turkish coffee.

For more of an ethnic vibe, feel free to visit the place where the kebabs are amazing, the baklava as sweet as cherry pie, and the apple tea simply delightful. Hint: If you’re feeling adventurous, try the the Künefe. This pastry dish is both crunchy and juicy, and makes for an unforgettable dessert.

Although the prices at Amirah’s can be quite hefty, the impeccable flavours of the food do the price justice. For something more affordable, we recommend going for their set meals. Must-try items include the falafel, lamb chops, and hummus!
