For just $25, enjoy a hair cut (without wash) by Aveda stylists. Alternatively, if it’s only your bangs that need a trim, a fringe cut goes for just $8! 100% of the proceeds raised from this initiative will go to the Singapore Environment Council to promote environmental consideration and urban sustainability.
This Aveda initiative is not a new one. In 2012, the company raised US$220,000 to benefit clean water causes during its 24-hour global hair-cutting marathon, setting a Guinness World Record in the process.

The company is dedicating a whole month to raising funds for green causes. With every purchase of its Blue Oil or Stress-fix Concentrate – both tension-relieving aromas – Aveda will donate $1 to the Singapore Environmental Council.
Alternatively, purchase the Aveda Love Composition Oil, S$52, and US$4 from the sale, will go to US-based non-profit environmental organisation National Audubon Society to support climate change initiatives that protect the natural ecosystem of birds. The product itself is a certified organic nourishing oil for bath, body, hair and scalp and smells simply divine, thanks to certified organic vetiver, frankincense and jasmine.
The Body Shop Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary

The Body Shop – founded by the late Dame Anita Roddick four decades ago – is one of those amazing brands that has stayed true to its mission of improving lives of developing communities and pushing other ethical causes.
In 1987, it launched the Trade Not Aid, the brand’s first Community Trade programme, which is still going strong today. 26 years later, in 2013, it became illegal for the European Union to import and sell animal-tested products and ingredients, largely due to The Body Shop’s relentless campaigning Against Animal Testing. This campaign continues globally.
2016 marks the brand’s 40th anniversary, and it’s launching several initiatives to celebrate this milestone. There’s Bio-Bridges, which will help protect and regenerate 75 million square metres of damaged habitats, as well as help communities live more sustainably. For every transaction during the campaign period, The Body Shop will protect one square metre of rainforest.
There will also be a forthcoming 100% vegetarian line of skincare, and the introduction of AirCarbon, a new innovative sustainable packaging.
