How To Accessorise Your Outfits While You’re Travelling … According to Savina Chai Lost & Found

Stylist and founder of local label Eight Slate, Savina Chai, shares with us her fashion styling tips for the intrepid traveller.

As a digital strategist and emerging local designer, Savina Chai is no stranger to fashion styling tricks when crafting her own personal brand. It is this creativity that landed her as one of the faces of Cointreau’s new campaign to celebrate women who have made their own path in the world, and who have dared to be different. A frequent traveller herself, Savina shares with us some styling tips you’ll definitely find useful the next time you are packing your suitcase!

Accessories

What are the five must-have accessories when you travel?

“These are my travel staples — a good pair of white sneakers, a fedora, one classic red lipstick, a good pair of earrings and a white tee.”

How can you style an outfit with tons of personality, without stuffing too much into your suitcase?

“Always stick to wardrobe classics like a white tee, a white shirt and one statement separate. Like a beautiful eye-catching blazer or skirt. These can be worn around, and mixed and matched for day to night events when travelling. The look can be finished off with the red lipstick or earrings that are packed in the suitcase.”

Heels

Give us your go-to tips for taking an outfit from day to night, for the busy traveller on the go.

“Always brighten the outfit out with a pop of colour on the lip, like a beautiful crimson red. And I will switch my footwear to heels, because the higher the heels, the closer to heaven, right..? I will also add on a pair of dressy earrings.”

Savina and her designs

Which cities inspire you the most, and how have they worked their way into your designs?

“I’m very inspired by Parisian culture, architecture, fashion and film. Similarly to that of the la
Parisienne culture of Cointreau who celebrate woman that are powerful, successful and confident. I’ve always channeled that back into my designs and creative work, that I am able to push my creative boundaries to come out with something that is always fresh, new and inspiring.”

Fashion is all about being creative. As an entrepreneur yourself, any tips for budding entrepreneurs on how to best explore your creative side?

“Never stop moving, never stop learning. Always work with other people, creative talents, photographers and most importantly with other brands. Not only does this help with contacts, but you learn from one another. This also helps to engage your creative side to keep coming up with fresh content be it marketing, design or fashion. Like for example, I’ve worked with Cointreau on a 3-month long collaboration that has offered a platform for me to push my creative boundaries. This creative journey helps me to think out of the box and be fearless in exploring ways of tying together two concepts – fashion and the Cointreau lifestyle – in order to make it relatable to the Cointreau society and to my audience and following. From hosting and curating my very own Cointreau Noir x Savina Chai party in July to constantly working on various moodboarding and branding ideas, its been a fun journey that has constantly pushed me to work outside of my comfort zone.”
