5 Happy Hour Spots You May Not Know About Food Notes

You don’t need to have deep pockets to buy booze in Singapore if you know where to look.

1. Gravity Bar, Carlton Hotel

Gravity Bar Cocktails

Gravity Bar singlehandedly destroys any misconceptions you may have about hotel bars being complete rip-offs. During Happy Hour, housepours, cocktails and martinis go for just $11 – which is a lot cheaper than what many cocktail bars have no qualms charging these days – and the drinks pack a punch. The lychee martini, in particular, is textbook perfect, and you shouldn’t be surprised if you find yourself a little tipsy after downing just two of these. We also need to raise our glasses to the resident house band Two-Shey for always singing on key and for their non-cheesy selection of songs.

Happy Hours
Mon – Thurs: 5pm – 8pm
Fri & Sat: 3pm – 8pm
Sunday: 5pm – 1am

Carlton Hotel is at 76 Bras Basah Road. For reservations, call 6311 8839 or email

2. District 10

Not only does District 10 offer one-for-one promos on a wide variety drinks, including draft beers, housepour spirits, the same deal is also extended to its menu of exotic gin & tonics. Special mention goes to its Bulldog Watermelon: a super refreshing cocktail made using Bulldog Gin, kaffir lime, and watermelon. We like that it’s served in a generously sized goblet glass, and they certainly don’t stinge on their portion of gin. After Happy Hour is over, you can still enjoy good deals on pints of Asahi and Kronenbourg, which go for $12 and $13 respectively.

Happy Hours
Tues – Thurs: 11am – 8pm
Mon: $6 nett for selected draft beers, prosecco, housepour spirits, and wines

District 10 is at #01-15/16/17 UE Square (Tel: 6738 4788) and #01-42/K3 The Star Vista (Tel: 6694 2884).

3. Chillax Cafe

Chillax Massage Cafe 1

Even if you don’t live around the area, Chillax’s awesome deals on beer are reason enough to make your way to the Serangoon Gardens estate. Where else in Singapore can you get full pints and jugs of Pure Blonde for just $9 and $29 respectively? (Nowhere … we’ve done the research) Not a fan of the low-carb beer? Then order a pint of Mac’s Great White for just $10. Best part? The deals don’t stop when Happy Hour comes to an end: Bucket beer deals run all night with five bottles going just $49 (choose from Tennent’s, Kronenburg Blanc, Corona, and Moritz).

Happy Hours
Mon – Sun: 4pm – 9pm

Chillax Café is at 28 Maju Avenue. For reservations, call 6244 5529.

4. One-Ninety Bar and Terraza by Javier de la Muelas, Four Seasons Hotel

Four Seasons Hotel Singapore - G&T

This bar is giving you a good reason to slip out of the office a little earlier at the end of a workweek with its Cocktail Fridays deals. From 6-8pm, customers can enjoy one-for-one promotion on cocktails such as dry martinis and gin & tonics. The G&Ts are particularly interesting. Each and every one is infused with “Droplets” that come in a variety of flavours to turn each G&T into a unique taste experience. The 190 G&T, for instance, is infused with cardamom. Gin & tonics go from $24 – $30. Our only gripe: There should be Happy Hour every day – not just on Friday!

Happy Hours
Fri: 6 – 8pm

Four Seasons Hotel is at 190 Orchard Boulevard. For reservations, call 6831 7671 or email

5. MEDZ Bistro & Bar

Four words: All Day Happy Hour. While hearty meat and seafood dishes might first come to mind when you think of MEDZ, they’ve got some amazing booze promos too. Buckets of five bottles of beer go for just $35 nett. Not a beer fan? You can also enjoy two glasses of housepour wine, or two housepour spirits at just $15 nett. Ladies, rejoice, because Mondays and Wednesdays are Ladies’ Nights and that means you’ll get to enjoy complimentary cocktails from 5pm to 8pm. We’re not sure about you, but we haven’t enjoyed such a good deal since we last hit the clubs about a decade ago.
